The Bard of Avon (William Shakespeare)

1-                Born in- Stratford-upon-Avon (UK).

2-                Baptized on 26th April, 1564.

3-                Father- John Shakespeare.

4-                Mother- Mary Arden.

5-                Elder sisters- Joan and Judith.

6-                Younger brothers- Gilbert, Richard and Edmund.

7-                At the age of 18, Shakespeare married with Anne Hathaway of 26.

8-                Anne Hathaway was 8 years older than him.

9-                Anne Hathaway had three children, Susanna, Hamnet and Judith.

10-          Hamnet Shakespeare was the only son of William Shakespeare.

11-          Hamnet and Judith were twins.

12-          Hamnet died and the age of 11.

13-          Shakespeare's literary career started around 1592.

14-          He was an actor and playwright.

15-          He was leading member of the Lord Chamberlain's Men.

16-          Most of his famous work's published between 1589 and 1613.

17-          Most of his plays were written as 'quarto texts', on a sheet of paper folded four ways.

18-          His first collection of works was printed in 1623.

19-          His last three plays were written with John Fletcher.

20-          He was the national poet of England.

21-          Robert Green criticized him as- "An upstart crow, beautified with our feathers", in his book 'Groats-Worth of Wit'.

22-          His last three plays were collaborations, probably with John Fletcher.

23-          John Fletcher succeeded him as the house playwright.

24-          Bradley has written a book 'Shakespearean Tragedy' (1904) to criticize Shakespeare.
